Giving to the work of Holy Trinity Church Lyonsdown
We are entirely self-supporting and rely on the generosity of our community and friends to resource the life and work of our church.
We are grateful for all donations small or large. Thank you
There are many different ways you can give to support the work of Holy Trinity. Setting up a regular gift is particularly helpful as it helps us budget, plan and use our resources more effectively.
Please do consider including Gift Aid if you are a UK tax payer (full details below).
Parish Giving Scheme: an easy method of planned giving by Direct Debit. It’s quick to set up, either online (www.parishgiving.org.uk) or by phone (0333 002 1271). Our parish code is 320632025
Bank transfer: for one-off payments or a regular standing order (Account no 70025836; Sort code 20-95-61) [If you would like Gift Aid on a bank transfer, please include your name, otherwise we can't claim Gift Aid.]
Online: we have an online giving page
Contactless card payment device is available in the church lobby for donations, payments for activities, etc.
Cheques payable to Holy Trinity Church
Cash collection basket during service
For questions about giving or Gift Aid speak to Rev Jenny, Treasurer Zoë Jones or Gift Aid Officer Chris Jones. Contact the church office and they can put you in touch.
Gift Aid
If you give regularly to Holy Trinity (or would like to start giving regularly) and are a UK tax payer, we would encourage you to sign a Gift Aid declaration for us. This allows us to claim an extra 25% from the government on your gift, thereby significantly increasing its value. (For example, a gift of £20 would increase to £25.) Gift Aid declarations are quick and easy to fill in – basically just your name and address. Forms are available here (Gift Aid Declaration form) or from Rev Jenny. You only need to fill out a form once and we can then claim Gift Aid on any future donations. Please print the form and fill it in, and then return it by post or email, or give it to Rev Jenny at Holy Trinity.
If you use the Parish Giving Scheme, they will ask if you want to add Gift Aid.
What can the church claim gift aid on? Once you have filled in a Gift Aid form, we can claim Gift Aid on any donation where we know it’s come from you. If you would like to Gift Aid cash donations, please put the money in an envelope with your name on. If you Gift Aid a bank transfer, please include your name when you make the transfer. If you would like to Gift Aid cash donations, please put the money in an envelope with your name on.
What can’t the church claim gift aid on? We can’t claim Gift Aid on unnamed donations in the collection baskets, non-monetary gifts, unclaimed expenses, payments for goods or services, or gifts from non-taxed income.
